Two Finnish companies, Aboa Space Research Oy and SEATOM Technologies, have been selected for a challenge programme within NATO's Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA). The announcement was made on 11 December 2025 by Finland's Ministry of Defence. The companies will join the programme in January 2026.

According to Finland's Ministry of Defence, over 3,600 applications were received from companies registered in NATO member countries, of which 150 were selected for the programme. Aboa Space Research Oy has been accepted in the challenge area of human resilience and biotechnology, while SEATOM Technologies has been chosen for operations in extreme environments.

– The Ministry of Defence has supported promising Finnish companies in their ambitions to participate in NATO's programme. This year, two new companies were selected for the DIANA challenge programme. It makes us proud and pleased that Finnish expertise once again plays a more prominent role in enhancing the alliance's capabilities, says Finland's Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen in the press release.

The press release states that the companies accepted into the challenge programme gain access to NATO's network of accelerators and testing facilities for technology development. During the first phase of the programme, the companies receive contract funding of 100,000 euros. Those companies advancing to the second phase of the programme are awarded an additional 300,000 euros.
