Saab has received an order from BAE Systems Hägglunds for the sight and fire control system UTAAS (Universal Tank and Anti-Aircraft System) for the Combat Vehicle 90. The order value amounts to approximately 700 million SEK, according to a press release from Saab.

UTAAS is a modular integrated sight and fire control system for the Combat Vehicle 90 that can be used against both ground and air targets.

– UTAAS is specifically developed for the Combat Vehicle 90, and we thus have a long and good collaboration with BAE Systems Hägglunds behind us. The Combat Vehicle 90 is a highly effective and appreciated vehicle that many different nations' armed forces are now increasingly demanding. To meet the increased demand, we have strengthened our production capacity, says Carl-Johan Bergholm, head of Saab's business area Surveillance.

The new order is one of several that Saab has received for sight and fire control systems for the Combat Vehicle 90. During 2023, similar agreements were signed for Slovak and Czech CV90, with a total order value of approximately 1.9 billion SEK, which FSN has previously reported on.
