At this year's Almedalen Week (the annual Swedish political and business forum held in Visby, Gotland), Knowit is participating in panel discussions focusing on digital resilience, scaling innovation to production, talent supply for total defence, and the Nordic region's role in the European defence tech ecosystem.

In the Techarena panel on digital resilience, Techsäker – How Do We Protect Business and Society in a High-Tech World?, a new report on Swedish companies' ability to withstand unexpected events will be discussed, along with what is required to move resilience from individual pilots to broad operational capability. The moderator is Pernilla Vinneby, CEO, Knowit Experience.

"Swedish companies fundamentally have a high level of technical maturity, but resilience is only truly tested when a crisis becomes reality. At that point, having good demos in reserve is not enough; the capability must be operational," says Per Wallentin, CEO and Group President, Knowit.

On Tuesday from 15:00 to 15:45, the Swedish Defence and Security Industry Association (SOFF) is hosting the seminar From Demo to Production: How Do We Scale Innovation? The discussion addresses the bottlenecks that arise when solutions are industrialised, and how procurement and collaboration can be developed to deliver volume with quality and supply security. The moderator is Jaime Rico, Head of Knowit Defence.

"Time and again we see that the technology exists, but the step towards robust production is held back by structures rather than solutions," says Stefan Palmgren, CEO, Knowit Defence Technology.

On Wednesday from 13:00 to 13:45, Knowit is participating in the Techarena panel Total Defence Talent Supply: Not in Theory, But in Practice, focusing on how the sector can attract and retain the right expertise as the security environment intensifies.

"Talent supply needs to move from strategy documents to how people are actually recruited, trained, and retained within the sector. That is where real defence capability is built," says Jaime Rico, who will also moderate the panel.

Later the same afternoon, from 14:15 to 15:15 at Bryggarsalen on Mellangatan 54 (Visby, Gotland), Jaime Rico is also participating as a panellist in Sweden and Finland as the Powerhouse of the Nordic Defense Tech Ecosystem. Against the backdrop of the heightened security situation in the Baltic Sea region, the panel examines how the Nordic countries can promote defence tech and dual-use innovation, scale internationally, and at the same time retain control over critical technology.

"The Nordic region has every prerequisite to take a leading position, but it requires closer collaboration and the willingness to coordinate procurement and technology across borders," says Jaime Rico.

In addition to the panel discussions, Knowit will be present at several informal networking venues throughout the week. The programme includes the Teknikföretagen (Swedish Association of Engineering Industries) Techarena networking reception at Drottens ruin on Tuesday at 19:30, and a joint event together with CAG for invited guests at Wisby Strand on Wednesday from 17:00 to 19:00.

On Thursday, Knowit is hosting a lunch in the Chambre separée at Wisby Strand, where further information will be shared about the Yggdrasil system, an infrastructure monitoring solution based on algorithms and machine learning. Knowit will also be present at the Techarena networking reception at Kallis during the evening.
