The Finnish technology company Bittium has entered into a so-called Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) with the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA). The agreement designates Bittium as a priority supplier and, according to the company, is expected to accelerate the procurement of secure mobile communication solutions for NATO and the alliance's member countries.

The information is revealed in a press release from Bittium. The new framework agreement covers commercial standard products (Commercial off-the-Shelf, COTS), which include both hardware, software, and accessories. According to Bittium, the agreement will help NATO maintain a technological edge and respond more swiftly to cyber threats through more efficient procurement processes.

– Bittium is a trusted pioneer and supplier of defence and security technology, and the agreement with NATO further streamlines the member countries' ability to procure our high-quality security solutions. We are very proud of this milestone, as it enables us to support NATO and its member countries in developing cybersecurity and critical capabilities, says Tommi Kangas, Senior Vice President for Bittium's Defence & Security business area.

The solutions covered by the agreement include, among others, the smartphone models in the Bittium Tough Mobile series as well as the software solutions Bittium SafeMove and Bittium Secure Call.
