A Danish Army unit has carried out live-fire training against drones with its infantry fighting vehicles, Danish Defence said on 5 October.
According to the Danish Defence, the crews engaged drones of different sizes at varying ranges, firing both while stationary and on the move. They used the vehicle's automatic cannon, which has an effective range of up to 4 km, and its machine gun. At Oksbøl, rain, low cloud and wind reduced visibility on one day, the Danish Defence said.
— We're not surprised as such, since we've had the vehicle for many years. This should be seen more as a focus on the air threat, said Captain Jakob, head of the infantry fighting vehicle element at the Capability Section for Armoured and Mechanised Infantry.
The Army's fleet of more than 40 vehicles will be replaced by the CV9035 MkIIIC. Denmark's order reached 159 vehicles after 44 more were bought in November 2025, as previously reported by NDS.
Danish Defence expects the first deliveries early next year. The new model adds Spike anti-tank missiles, an active protection system and an independent commander's sight.
