The proposals are based on a collaboration between the government and the Sweden Democrats. The government also plans to launch a new strategy for information and cybersecurity, according to a press release from the Ministry of Defence. According to the press release, the initiatives cover several different parts of society.
National Cybersecurity Centre (NCSC) The National Defence Radio Establishment (FRA) is allocated 50 million SEK to build and develop the National Cybersecurity Centre. The goal is to create a more effective and coordinated cybersecurity hub for the entire society.
Enhanced operational capability CERT-SE, which is Sweden's Computer Security Incident Response Team at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), receives an increase of 40 million SEK to strengthen the ability to handle cyber incidents. The funds will also be used to meet the requirements of the NIS2 Directive.
National survey of municipalities' cyber capabilities MSB is allocated 30 million SEK to conduct a national survey of municipalities' technical cybersecurity capabilities. The purpose is to identify measures and future investment needs in cybersecurity at the municipal level.
Development support and cybersecurity tools 8 million SEK is allocated for MSB to further develop its support to critical societal actors, including advice and training in information security. An additional 6 million SEK is allocated to develop the tool Cybersäkerhetskollen, which offers organisations support in cybersecurity work.
Research and innovation 15 million SEK is invested in the national coordination centre for research and innovation in cybersecurity (NCC-SE), to promote collaboration between industry, academia, and the public sector in the field of cybersecurity.
Cyber awareness among the public MSB receives 11 million SEK to increase public awareness of cyber risks through the campaign "Think Securely," focusing on promoting good cyber hygiene.
Supervision of cybersecurity regulations To ensure compliance with the NIS2 Directive, supervisory authorities receive 28 million SEK for their work in conducting supervision according to the directive's requirements.
