During the morning Ukraine's President announced Volodymyr Zelensky via X (formerly Twitter) that he, along with his wife Olena Zelenska, has arrived in Sweden to hold meetings with Sweden's political and military leadership. According to a press release from the Government Offices, discussions are being held with the government and meetings with the Speaker, the Supreme Commander, and party leaders of the Riksdag. The Royal Court has also invited the presidential couple to Stenhammar Palace as part of the visit.

Later, Zelensky wrote that talks with Kristersson are underway and that the discussions involve defence collaborations, including the Combat Vehicle 90. During a subsequent press conference, Kristersson announced that they have signed a joint declaration of intent to initiate production and repair of BAE Hägglunds Combat Vehicle 90 in Ukraine.

When Zelensky continued his statement during the press conference, he mentioned that Ukrainian soldiers praise the quality of the combat vehicle. In May, the president stated via his Telegram channel that he had meetings in Kyiv with BAE Systems' global CEO Charles Woodburn. According to the message, they discussed opening offices and production facilities within Ukraine for the company's various products.
