The government is expected to return with an analysis of how quickly and to what extent the Swedish defense should be strengthened. According to Kristersson, there is a long-term plan to protect Sweden, and he emphasizes that there is broad consensus on strengthening the defense.
– We will make a new defense decision once again. I am quite sure that it will be based on the decisions made at the NATO summit, Kristersson.
The EU member states have recently agreed to support a comprehensive rearmament plan aimed at strengthening Europe's defense capacity. A total of 800 billion euros will be freed up through budget changes and loans.
