The US State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale of three MH-60R Seahawk multi-mission helicopters to Denmark. The estimated cost is $425 million. The congressional notification was published on 22 September 2026.

The notification concerns a proposed sale, not a signed contract.

Along with the three helicopters, Denmark has asked for eight embedded GPS/inertial navigation systems (six installed, two spares) and three digital magnetic anomaly detection systems. The package also includes T700-GE-401D engines, APS-153(V) multi-mode radars, AN/AAS-44C(V) multi-spectral targeting systems and AN/ALQ-210 electronic support measures systems.

According to the State Department, the helicopters would improve security for Denmark's critical infrastructure. The principal contractors would be Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky.

– Implementation of this proposed sale will not require the assignment of any additional U.S. Government or contractor representatives to Denmark, the State Department said.

Denmark already flies nine MH-60Rs. According to the Danish Defence, they belong to Squadron 723 under Helicopter Wing Karup and entered the Danish service in 2017.
