Rear Admiral (Res.) Thomas Engevall has been elected to the board of Micropol Fiberoptics, the company announced in a press release. Thomas Engevall retired from active service in 2022 after a long career in the Swedish Armed Forces, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, and is now a reserve officer at the Defence Staff.

Thomas Engevall has held key positions as director of strategic material management at FMV, head of materiel procurement within the Swedish Armed Forces, head of defense logistics, and as Chief Information Officer (CIO). In December 2023, he became a Senior Advisor at Svekon.

During 2023, Micropol has, among other things, signed multi-year framework agreements with FMV as well as BAE Hägglunds. The company is based in Åled outside Halmstad and manufactures various tactical fiber optic systems.
