The unit had very little time from the order to when they needed to be in place.
– That is primarily what distinguishes a readiness operation from an exercise. Short time frames combined with mission tactics and initiative capability, it is for real. This is to both reinforce a location within the framework of our readiness and to test how quickly and effectively our units and capabilities can act in a real situation, says Fredrik Stålberg, Deputy Chief of the Swedish Armed Forces Operations Command, which leads the readiness operation.
The Swedish Armed Forces state that it is the first time air defence system 103 is used in a readiness operation. During the readiness operation, several other units and functions participated.
At midday on Wednesday, 8 February, the Swedish Armed Forces announced that the readiness operation is now concluded and the participating units will return to their home units.
