Sweden's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson will participate on 16 December at the Eastern Flank Summit in Helsinki, Finland. The meeting is organised by Finland's Prime Minister Petteri Orpo.
According to the Government Offices' press release, the Eastern Flank Summit is being held for the first time in Helsinki, Finland. The press release states that heads of state and government from seven EU countries will participate in the meeting. In addition to Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, and Lithuania will be involved. Furthermore, it is indicated that the meeting will focus on security and defence issues in Europe, with a particular emphasis on defence readiness and threats to Europe's security at the European Union's eastern border. The press release also mentions that the meeting in Finland is being held ahead of the European Council meeting in Brussels, Belgium, which takes place later the same week.
