All of the Navy's units and also the Coast Guard are represented at the situational awareness exercise, according to the Ministry of Defence. During Aurora 23, the Coast Guard participates with three vessels to practice sea surveillance, sea transport, and emergency towing together with the Navy. The Coast Guard is tasked with performing rescue services at sea in wartime and has intensified its cooperation with the Armed Forces due to the security policy situation.
Today, Carl-Oskar Bohlin, the Minister for Civil Defence, visits the Maritime Operations Center (MOC) at the Muskö base. The MOC is currently conducting an exercise in command and the creation of joint situational awareness at sea, known as a situational awareness exercise. This is according to a press release from the Ministry of Defence.
