The King of Sweden and the Crown Princess of Sweden are attending the Folk och Försvar National Conference in Sälen, Sweden. According to the Royal Court, 2026 marks 80 years since the first conference was held, and this year's theme is Action and Delivery.
The Royal Court states that the 2026 national conference gathers around 400 participants and over 60 speakers for knowledge dissemination, discussions, and debates. According to the same source, the focus is on global security, Sweden's defence, public safety, and societal crisis preparedness.
The King of Sweden delivered the opening speech of the conference at the Högfjällshotellet in Sälen, according to the Royal Court.
– "As Folk och Försvar now celebrates its 80th anniversary, we are reminded of the importance of tirelessly safeguarding our collective security. It is a societal responsibility we all share, as well as the responsibility to keep the dialogue alive and strengthen our cohesion for the good of Sweden," said the King of Sweden in his speech.
