On 30 September, the Swedish Armed Forces conducted a change of command ceremony at Karlberg Palace where Micael Bydén formally handed over command to Michael Claesson.
Claesson has had a long career within the Swedish Armed Forces, most recently as the head of the then-new Defence Staff. The role of new Defence Staff Chief is taken over by Lieutenant General Carl-Johan Edström.
