Commodore Magnus Lüning, Commander of the Central Military Region, was received in audience by the King on 10 April to receive the commandant's staff of office, according to the Royal Court in a press release and the Central Military Region in a post on Facebook.

As Commander of the Central Military Region, Magnus Lüning also serves as Commandant of Stockholm (the Swedish capital), as he is the senior land territorial commander for the area. This means he occasionally participates in ceremonies and may also deputise for the Supreme Commandant, Lieutenant General Michael Claesson, when required, during events such as parades and receptions.

"It is an enormously honourable duty to participate in state ceremonial activities," said Commodore Magnus Lüning, Commander of the Central Military Region, in a post on the military region's Facebook page.

During the audience, the King presented Magnus Lüning with the commandant's staff of office, which serves as the symbol of the commandancy. The staff bears silver rings marking each commandant from 1938 to the present day.
