The Air Force's traditional Christmas tree flights return this year and will also extend over parts of the Nordic region. The flights are to be conducted in cooperation with Nordic neighboring countries to demonstrate the joint air defense capability, writes the Swedish Armed Forces on their website.

The formation flying is not only an appreciated tradition but also an important part of the Air Force's training activities, writes the Swedish Armed Forces. Conducting flights in larger formations over extended periods strengthens the units' ability to plan and coordinate. Additionally, the flights signify the Air Force's presence as a symbol of security and defense against external threats.

The routes for the flights are currently being planned and will be published at a later date on social media. However, exact times and routes may be affected by local weather conditions, and flight safety is always prioritized.
