Teracom has signed a new agreement with the Swedish Armed Forces for the continued development of a state-owned, nationally controlled cloud system for sharing classified information in real time. The intention is for the project to continue until 2028.
According to a press release from the state-owned company, the cloud platform will provide an environment for applications that compile and share classified information automatically and in real time. Among the functions are a system for a shared situational picture, as well as support for text and chat communication, email, video conferencing and voice. The platform will also be able to host applications from external actors that strengthen Sweden's total defence.
Teracom states that the company acts as an industry partner to the Swedish Armed Forces in the project and has agreements with several Swedish subcontractors, including Evroc, Freja eID, Elastisys, Aityr and T-unit.
"This is a very important delivery for Sweden, and we are now continuing to develop it so that it can also strengthen the whole of Sweden's total defence. Together with several other initiatives, the project is a central part of Teracom's digital transformation, which will contribute to the future of media distribution," says Johan Petersson, CEO of Teracom, in the press release.
According to Teracom, the platform is used to give decision-makers rapid access to up-to-date information. The company also states that the solution can be established for other actors within the total defence system and that it has already been tested in government agency exercises.
