Swedish Defense Companies Signed Strategic Agreements at DSEI

The defense exhibition DSEI in London has concluded for this time. Companies have showcased their products and services to military personnel and officials - but also to other companies. Defense Sector News has compiled some of the collaboration agreements that Swedish defense companies entered into during the exhibition.

Saab enters strategic partnership and invests in Helsing

Saab has entered a strategic partnership with Helsing, a defense company specializing in AI-based software technology. The partnership is based on a collaboration agreement where Helsing's advanced AI capabilities are combined with Saab's broad range of solutions, along with a cash investment of 75 million Euros by Saab for a 5 percent ownership in Helsing GmbH. The investment is part of Helsing's latest funding round led by venture capital firm General Catalyst, Saab stated in a press release on September 14.

Saab's role as a strategic investor in Helsing will lead to a deepened collaboration between the two companies and enable the development of enhanced capabilities across the entire product portfolio. The partnership and investment position Saab uniquely with Helsing. The collaboration will begin with electronic warfare and surveillance capabilities for combat aircraft, as well as additional applications for sensors and command systems in all domains, according to the company.

Mildef's partnership agreement with Surface Technology International (STI)

MilDef has signed a partnership agreement with the British electronics manufacturer Surface Technology International (STI). The supplier will become an integral part of MilDef UK's base and will deliver components to MilDef's production facility in Wales.

– The agreement supports our long-term commitment to our British customers. It is also the foundation for further value creation between MilDef and STI, says Carl-Magnus Eriksson, Director of Supply Chain at MilDef, in a post on the company's LinkedIn.

Saab's agreement with ST Engineering 

Saab and Singapore Technologies Engineering (ST Engineering) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on September 13. The MoU aims to strengthen the companies' relationship and cooperation to explore mutually interesting markets. ST has been Saab's partner in various material projects in Singapore for over 30 years, according to a press release from Saab on September 14.

– The signing of this MoU is the result of 30 years of collaboration between Saab and ST Engineering. The partnership will ensure that the companies together create 'best of breed' technical solutions for our customers, both locally and internationally. We look forward to a deeper collaboration that will surely benefit both parties, says Dean Rosenfield, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Saab in the statement.

Clavister agreement with Milrem Robotics

Clavister has signed an MoU with Milrem Robotics. Milrem is an Estonian company, with offices in Sweden and the USA, that manufactures unmanned ground vehicles (UGV), including the Type-X Robotic Combat Vehicle, which is an unmanned modular combat vehicle, according to a press release from Clavister on September 12.
