During a press conference led by Defence Minister Pål Jonson (M) together with Oscar Sjöstedt (SD), Mikael Oscarsson (KD), and Joar Forssell (L), they presented the government's latest military support package to Ukraine.
With the new measures of 7.1 billion kronor (in package 15) and an addition of 0.7 billion kronor to package 14, the total Swedish military support to Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion began in February 2022 amounts to 30 billion kronor, writes the Ministry of Defence.
The support package includes:
- Artillery ammunition – Of the 155 mm type which, after completion with components from partner countries, forms functional shells worth almost two billion kronor. Sweden is in dialogue with Denmark and Finland about this.
- Combat Boat 90 – 10 Combat Boat 90s along with 20 Group Boats (G-boat) and underwater weapons are donated with a value of just over 1.1 billion kronor.
- The package also includes air defence systems (Robot 70), anti-tank systems (Robot 55 TOW), as well as grenade launchers with ammunition and soldier equipment in the form of hand grenades.
- The package also includes medical equipment, medical transport vehicles, and food supplies.
- Donation to support Ukraine in purchasing newly manufactured Combat Vehicles 90 (CV90). Just over 1 billion kronor is allocated for this.
- Financial donations to various bilateral and multilateral projects for the development of Ukraine's defence capability and multilateral funds that purchase military equipment on the open market for Ukraine.
