The Swedish Armed Forces (Försvarsmakten) have tasked the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) with ordering modifications for 58 older armoured personnel carriers of the type Armoured Personnel Carrier 203 from Patria. The work will commence at the beginning of 2026.
The vehicles in question, Patria XA-203, were delivered to the Swedish Armed Forces in the early 2000s and are part of the older generation of 6x6 vehicles in the Swedish defence. The modification project includes, among other things, adaptation for a Remote Weapon Station (RWS) and will be carried out at Patria's facilities in Hämeenlinna, Finland.
The upgrade is part of Patria's ongoing mid-life modification of the entire Patgb 203 fleet.

According to Patria, the agreement is expected to contribute to strengthening the operational capability of the Swedish fleet and deepen the long-term cooperation between the company, FMV, and the Swedish Armed Forces.
