Sweden Dynamics Establishes Drone Production with NOTE

Sweden Dynamics and NOTE have entered into a letter of intent for strategic cooperation regarding the production of tactical drone systems with European supply security.

In a press release from Sweden Dynamics on 18 November, it was announced that the company has entered into a partnership with electronics manufacturer NOTE AB. The agreement entails that NOTE is prioritised as the manufacturer of Sweden Dynamics' proprietary electronics and key components for drone systems intended for total defence, emergency services, and critical societal functions within the EU and NATO.

According to the press release, the cooperation includes a model for European and scalable production, based on Sweden Dynamics' open system architecture and NOTE's established production capacity in Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Bulgaria, and the United Kingdom.

– With NOTE's manufacturing capacity and European presence, we can ensure that the next generation of tactical drone systems is built quickly, securely, and within NATO and the EU, says Sebastian Merlöv, Chairman of the Board and co-founder of Sweden Dynamics, in the press release.

According to the company, Sweden Dynamics has developed ready-made drone concepts that combine flight performance with proprietary software for tactical applications. The products are intended to be operationally deployed directly and scaled up to series production in a short time.

NOTE highlights in its comment the importance of combining advanced technology with European supply capability.

– Sweden Dynamics is an innovative player with both technical and operational understanding, and we look forward to developing this cooperation, says Johannes Lind-Widestam, CEO and Group President of NOTE.

The letter of intent is an example of how industrial models based on dual-use and open architectures can strengthen both military and civilian resilience, according to the companies. At the same time, the model is described as being in line with NATO's ambitions that defence expenditures should also promote technological and industrial development within member countries.
