Sweden and Germany have signed a Letter of Intent on deepened cooperation within air and space capabilities. The cooperation covers areas including air and missile defence, space capabilities, and unmanned combat aircraft systems.
In a post on X, Swedish Defence Minister Pål Jonson states that he, together with his German counterpart Boris Pistorius, has signed a Letter of Intent on deepened Swedish-German cooperation within the air and space domain.
"This is an important step for two close allies, for European security, and for our shared ability to meet NATO's capability requirements," writes Pål Jonson.
According to Jonson, the cooperation covers air and missile defence, Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C), space capabilities, and advanced combat aircraft capabilities, including Unmanned Collaborative Combat Aircraft (UCCA).
The parties will also deepen cooperation within electronic warfare, sensors, propulsion systems, simulation, airborne weapons systems, avionics, artificial intelligence, and manned-unmanned teaming.
"Stronger cooperation between industry and government makes Europe more capable and more secure," writes Jonson.
