Sweden and Denmark in Agreement on More CV90s to Ukraine
Sweden and Denmark have today signed a joint declaration of intent to further procure Combat Vehicle 90 for Ukraine. Denmark will initially contribute financially with 1.8 billion Danish kroner, and Sweden will support the procurement within the framework of the agreement made between FMV and Ukraine this summer, according to press releases from the Ministry of Defence and the Danish Ministry of Defence.

This summer, the government authorised FMV to negotiate and enter into agreements with Ukraine. The decision allows FMV to negotiate and enter into international agreements with the competent authority in Ukraine regarding, among other things, the procurement of defence materiel.

– This is an important step to support Ukraine's armed forces together with Denmark.  We will utilise industrial capability to ensure deliveries of newly produced Combat Vehicle 90 (CV 90) to Ukraine. The Combat Vehicle 90 has been, and continues to be, a significant addition to Ukraine's defence since Sweden donated 50 vehicles earlier this year, says Defence Minister Pål Jonson (M) in the Ministry of Defence's press release.

The Danish financial support is part of their fourteenth support package and will be financed through the Danish Ukraine Fund. In addition to the combat vehicles, the donation also includes spare parts, ammunition, and a multi-year maintenance agreement to ensure the vehicles can be logistically supported after delivery, writes the Ministry of Defence.

– The current bilateral agreement is an important contribution to our shared ambition to continue supporting Ukraine's fight for freedom. We are therefore joining forces to donate Swedish-produced combat vehicles that Ukraine has requested for use in their defence against Russia, says Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen in the Ministry of Defence's press release.
