Sweden and the USA have signed a declaration of intent to strengthen cooperation between the Swedish and American special forces. The declaration of intent, which is classified, aims to deepen operational and capability-developing cooperation, writes the Ministry of Defense in a press release.

– The current security situation has increased the importance of cooperation. The declaration of intent strengthens relations with the USA and enables deeper cooperation, says Minister of Defense Pål Jonson (M).

– Cooperation is our greatest collective asset. The declaration of intent is yet another important step in the deep relationship between the USA and Sweden and allows us to strengthen our partnership, address regional challenges, handle provocations, and promote our shared security, says Christopher P. Maier, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict, in the same press release.
