During a press conference this morning, the government announced that Sweden is preparing to send an additional support package to Ukraine. The package will include anti-tank missiles (Rb57/NLAW), combat vehicles (CV90), and the Archer artillery system.

According to the government, the number includes 50 combat vehicles. They state that the Swedish Armed Forces (Försvarsmakten) have been tasked with determining how the deployment of the Archer artillery piece can be carried out. Defence Minister Pål Jonsson indicates that it concerns the Archer B type and that currently, 24 are available, and those to be sent are not currently deployed in the Swedish Armed Forces. The government further states that the support will be provided in cooperation with other nations.

The total value of the support package is stated to be 4.3 billion kronor. The government also announces that the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) will provide procurement support to its Ukrainian counterpart.

On the government's website, it is stated that the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) is authorised by the government to negotiate and enter into international agreements with the competent authority in Ukraine regarding, among other things, the procurement of defence materiel. The agreement also includes cooperation on support in the establishment and development of procurement organisations and activities, as well as information and experience exchange in the field.

The package includes: Grenade launchers (Carl Gustaf) with ammunition, anti-tank weapons (AT4), anti-tank missile 57 (NLAW), automatic rifles, mine-clearing equipment, and Combat Vehicle 90 (CV 90) valued at up to 4.3 billion kronor.
