The government has decided to assign the Swedish Armed Forces the task of making financial donations totaling 4.8 billion kronor to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities. The decision includes contributions to several international funds and coalitions as part of the nineteenth military support package, according to a press release from the Ministry of Defense.

– These payments will make Ukraine's armed forces and defense industry stronger in the defense against Russia, says Minister of Defense Pål Jonson in the press release.

Sweden contributes, among other things, to four capability coalitions under the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (UDCG):

Mine Clearance Coalition: 100 million kronor

Drone Coalition: 300 million kronor

Maritime Security Coalition: 50 million kronor

IT Security and Command Systems Coalition: 30 million kronor

The government also continues its support for the so-called Danish model for purchasing defense materiel from Ukrainian industry with an additional over 1 billion kronor.

In addition, Sweden contributes 418 million kronor to a coordinated procurement of materiel to strengthen Ukraine's ground combat capability, an initiative led by Denmark in cooperation with Nordic-Baltic countries.

An additional 1.1 billion kronor is allocated to international initiatives for procuring ammunition, led by the Czech Republic and Estonia. The contributions are intended to support the EU's goal of delivering at least two million artillery shells to Ukraine by 2025. The government has also decided to donate over 1 billion kronor for the procurement of air defense systems and long-range drones.
