Magdalena Andersson states in her announcement that they want Sweden to prepare to support Ukraine with Gripen. The party is now requesting an analysis of whether it is possible to donate Gripen to Ukraine. She continues to say that for a donation to be carried out, Sweden must first be full NATO members.
When asked whether a donation of fighter jets to Ukraine will adversely affect Swedish defence capability, Peter Hultqvist replied that they first want to see an analysis of whether the implementation of the donation is possible. He continued to say that their message today is to "send the signal that there are no principal obstacles to supporting Ukraine with Gripen."
