Stefan Jakab has been appointed as the new Secretary General of the industry association SME-D. He succeeds Emma Risén and recently assumed his new role, with a broad background in both business and the defense industry, the association states in a press release.

SME-D's chairman Jaime Rico highlights Jakab's competence as an important addition to the association's development work.

– We are very pleased to welcome Stefan Jakab as Secretary General, he says in the press release.

With a Master of Science in Engineering from KTH and previous experience from companies such as Business Sweden and Telia, Jakab looks forward to supporting the growth of Sweden's small and medium-sized defense companies.

– Smaller companies stand out with short decision-making paths and the speed in turning ideas into products, which will be crucial for the success of the Swedish defense industry in today's rapidly changing threat landscape, says Stefan Jakab.
