Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has signed a contract worth 4.7 billion Norwegian kroner for the delivery of the Joint Strike Missile (JSM) to a new customer. This brings the total number of countries that have selected the missile for their combat aircraft to six.

In the press release from Kongsberg, the ordering country was not disclosed. The missile has previously been selected by Norway, Japan, Australia, the United States, and Germany. With this new order, a sixth country has joined the user community.

Nordic Defence Sector reported in June that Kongsberg had signed a contract worth approximately 2.7 billion Norwegian kroner with the United States Air Force for additional deliveries of the JSM. The missile has been developed to be carried internally within the weapons bay of the F-35A.

Update: Following publication, it was announced that Canada is the sixth country, which has been confirmed by both Canada and Kongsberg.
