The contract includes maintenance and logistics support as well as training services.
"The agreement strengthens Saab's role in ensuring that GlobalEye is ready to carry out missions. We look forward to continuing our close cooperation with the United Arab Emirates Air Force and to providing long-term support locally," says Carl-Johan Bergholm, Head of Saab's Surveillance business area, in the company's press release.
GlobalEye provides surveillance and command-and-control capability across airspace, sea and land, using a number of active and passive sensors that enable the detection and identification of objects at long range. By transmitting information in real time to units within the air force, army and navy, GlobalEye delivers a comprehensive situational picture of the surrounding environment and the capability to detect threats at an early stage, Saab states.
