Saab has signed a multi-year agreement with the Netherlands Ministry of Defence for the vehicle-integrated camouflage system Barracuda Mobile Camouflage System (MCS). An initial order has been placed for the Dutch Army's existing Fennek and Panzerhaubitze vehicles.
The agreement gives the Netherlands the opportunity to order object-specific camouflage for the country's military vehicles over several years. Deliveries under the initial order will be carried out over the coming years, according to a press release from Saab.
"We are proud to support the Dutch Army with our advanced multispectral camouflage solutions. They help protect the vehicle fleet from detection across the entire modern sensor spectrum, while also strengthening survivability and mobility on the battlefield," says Henning Robach, head of Saab's Barracuda business unit, in the press release.
The initial order covers MCS for the Army's existing Fennek and Panzerhaubitze vehicles. The agreement also includes options for camouflage solutions for additional vehicle types.
The systems are tailored to each vehicle and can be delivered with camouflage patterns for, among others, forest, urban and Arctic environments.
