Lithuania has placed a new order for Saab's mobile air defense system MSHORAD. The order is valued at approximately 1.2 billion SEK and deliveries are planned for the period 2026-2029, Saab states in a press release.

The new order follows a previous order from Lithuania made in July 2024, which FSN has reported on earlier. With the expansion, an additional battery within Lithuania's defense will be equipped with Saab's short-range air defense system.

The MSHORAD solution consists of mobile firing and radar units, connected to Saab's ground-based air defense command and control system, GBAD C2, and will be integrated on vehicles from the American company Oshkosh.

– We are proud to continue supporting the Lithuanian defense with our air defense capability, says Görgen Johansson, head of Saab's business area Dynamics, in a statement in the press release.

Lithuania's Minister of Defense Laurynas Kasčiūnas says that the acquisition strengthens the country's air defense capability and highlights the system's mobility as a major advantage.
