Saab Receives Order for Carl-Gustaf from Secret Customer
Saab has received an order for the recoilless rifle Carl-Gustaf. The order value is approximately 1.3 billion Swedish kronor, and deliveries are planned for the next two years, the company stated in a press release.

Saab has had several significant orders for the rifle and associated ammunition recently. In October, the company received an order from Japan, which has used the rifle since 1979, for 300 additional rifles. The month before, the United States placed a billion-dollar order that included ammunition specifically for the Carl-Gustaf.

- This is yet another confirmation that Carl-Gustaf is the first choice for armed forces in many parts of the world. It is a system that soldiers trust on the battlefield, says Görgen Johansson, head of Saab's Dynamics business area in the press release.

Saab states that they will not disclose any further information about the order or the customer. They refer to "the nature of the industry and circumstances concerning the customer."

Last week, Saab announced that they had received an order worth approximately 4.3 billion Swedish kronor from "an unnamed country in the Western world." The explanation given for withholding the information then was also "the nature of the industry and circumstances concerning the customer," in addition to national security interests as reasons.
