Saab expands its operations in Finland by opening a new production facility in Tampere. The facility will manufacture the passive electronic warfare sensor Sirius Compact. The new facility is set to become operational in early 2025, enabling larger-scale production of Sirius Compact.

– Saab's presence in Finland is growing with a focus on research and development in electronic warfare. This initiative underscores our commitment to providing advanced defense solutions to our customers, says Kristian Tornivaara, Country Manager for Saab in Finland, in a press release from the company.

Saab's presence in Finland, which currently includes approximately 200 employees in Helsinki, Tampere, and Turku, will be further strengthened. The series of sensors is used to detect, classify, and prioritize hostile radar and communication transmitters in land, air, and maritime domains. In October 2024, the company launched a sensor designed to track communication signals from, for example, drones.
