According to Saab, Deform has long supplied specially treated parts for submarine manufacturing and is an important supplier in the production of the Blekinge-class submarines.
– Deform has unique expertise in forming demanding and tough materials. We see it as a winning concept for both Kockums and Deform to secure supply and jointly develop more business by making Deform part of the Saab family, says Mats Wicksell, head of Saab's business area Kockums.
Deform states that operations will continue in Degerfors and that the company name will be retained.

Deform describes itself as a forming company active in pressure vessels, protection, basic industry, and "heavy equipment," with specialist expertise in hot and cold forming of metallic materials. The business started in 1907, the current name was introduced in 1987, and the company has 37 employees.
