Saab has reached an agreement with the municipality of Boden to rent two hangars at the former AF 1 in central Boden for its upcoming establishment of Weaponry Services. The department is now building a team in Boden focused on so-called unit-close support related to the weapon systems used by the Swedish Armed Forces units in Boden. The nearest similar teams are currently located in Växsjö and Halmstad, according to a press release from the municipality of Boden on September 22.

- Saab is establishing itself in Boden to contribute qualitatively to the growth of the Swedish Armed Forces. Boden and its surroundings are an attractive area that will grow in terms of technical industry in the coming years. Initially, we want to recruit about fifteen employees for placement in our new workshop in Boden. We both want and need to be part of this growth area, says Torbjörn Andersson, Saab's manager for the establishment in Boden, in the press release.

The current premises at the former AF 1 area will be prepared and are expected to be ready early in the spring of 2024. The company is in a recruitment process to find a site manager for the Boden team, the municipality writes.
