Today, the keel-laying ceremony was conducted for the first of two new Polish signals intelligence ships. Saab signed an agreement with Poland last November for two ships valued at approximately 6.7 billion SEK. The ships are scheduled to be delivered in 2027.

At the ceremony, which took place at the Remontowa Shipbuilding yard in Gdansk, representatives from Saab, the Polish Ministry of Defence's procurement authority Armament Agency, and the Polish Navy, Remontowa Holding, as well as invited guests, were present. Remontowa Shipbuilding SA is Saab's designated subcontractor to build the ships in Poland, according to a press release from Saab.

- The Navy's intelligence ship systems are advanced platforms that must be highly reliable and available. Today's keel-laying ceremony is an important milestone in the shipbuilding process, and we appreciate the cooperation with our Polish customer Armament Agency, the Polish Navy, and our partner in this project Remontowa Holding, says Mats Wicksell, head of Saab's business area Kockums, in the press release.
