Furthermore, Saab and Embraer will also explore the possibilities of using existing networks and facilities, such as the Gripen Design and Development Network (GDDN), the Gripen Flight Test Center (GFTC), and Embraer's final assembly facility in Gavião Peixoto. This means that Embraer and Saab will collaborate to increase Embraer's involvement in future Gripen deals.
The companies will also cooperate on the engineering side and with technical studies on future combat aircraft, consolidating the technology transfer Saab is making to the defence industry in Brazil within the Brazilian Gripen programme. They will also evaluate the integration of Saab's systems on the C-390, which can be used for a range of different types of missions. This work can support both the future development of Gripen up to 2060 and other future needs in combat aircraft that arise during that time.
