On September 1, 2024, Rick Forsling, 61, will take over as Secretary General of the Swedish Veterans Federation (SVF) after MariAnne Boström, according to the federation's website. Forsling has extensive experience in the Swedish Armed Forces and has participated in international missions in Liberia, Kosovo, and Bosnia. He has also worked as a civilian election observer in Ukraine and Georgia.

– The strength of the federation lies with its members, says Forsling, who also emphasizes the importance of camaraderie support and creating a strong community within the SVF.

Forsling highlights that his experience in communication has given him knowledge of how to build meaningful relationships. He looks forward to increasing the membership and diversity of veterans in the federation, as well as further strengthening cooperation with the Swedish Armed Forces and other organizations.

The outgoing Secretary General MariAnne Boström is moving to New York, where her husband Roger Nilsson has assumed the role of military advisor at Sweden's UN representation.
