Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) will visit Hungary's capital Budapest on Friday at the invitation of Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. After the meeting, the heads of government will hold a joint press conference, according to a press release from the Prime Minister's Office.

According to the press release, the agenda for the meeting is security and defence policy cooperation between Hungary and Sweden, preparations for Hungary's upcoming EU presidency, and the EU's strategic agenda.

Prime Minister Orban writes on X (formerly Twitter) that it is his pleasure to welcome the Prime Minister to Budapest.

On Facebook, the group leader of Orban's party Fidesz in the Hungarian parliament writes that the party is now ready to vote yes to Swedish NATO accession on Monday, according to SVT Nyheter.
