A 52-year-old man was charged on 13 April on suspicion of gross unauthorised handling of classified information. The man is suspected of possessing and distributing secret and sensitive information about a large number of defence installations, according to the Public Prosecutor's Office. Sveriges Radio reports that the man, according to Säpo's investigation, was one of the administrators behind the secret chat groups that Säpo has investigated in recent years.

– I assess the crime as serious because it involves a large number of installations that are significant for Sweden's ability to defend the country in the event of war. The disclosure of information could be detrimental to the security of the realm, says senior prosecutor Lars Hedvall.

Sveriges Radio refers to the Security Service's investigations, which claim that the man now charged with gross unauthorised handling of classified information is one of the administrators behind the secret chat groups in the forum. He is now suspected of having disseminated and thereby disclosed classified information about 26 defence installations in September 2015, and of possessing information about 19 secret military objects in November 2017.

– My client denies the crime, and the district court will assess this case at an upcoming main hearing, says Anton Strand, the defence lawyer for the accused man in the same article.
