Per Wallin Joins Nordic Defence Sector

Per Wallin, known as one-third of the War History Podcast and currently featured in the SVT series War Machine Sweden, is joining the Nordic Defence Sector.

Per has a background as a journalist and several years of experience as a soldier in the Swedish Armed Forces (Försvarsmakten), including a deployment in Afghanistan in 2012. Today, he occasionally serves as a rifle group leader in the 1st Infantry Brigade at the Life Guards (Livgardet).

"This collaboration is a dream assignment for me: getting hands-on with defence materiel while talking to interesting people who all work under the motto #tohellwithputin," says Per Wallin.

Together with Mattis Bergwall and Fredrik Hagelin, he has published the award-winning books Russia's Military Fuck-Ups and Folkhemmet at War, and for several years he has led the Swedish Armed Forces' broadcasts on Veterans Day.

"We have long followed Per's way of combining storytelling with military experience and sharp analysis. His presence allows us to deepen the conversations about industry, readiness, and defence capability – both in words and images," says Anton Thynell, co-founder of the Nordic Defence Sector.

With this collaboration, the Nordic Defence Sector plans to expand its coverage with elements in moving images and sound, to create a more vibrant and accessible narrative about how ideas become capabilities in Nordic defence.
