Since 2022, Sweden has been part of the multinational CAVS program along with Finland, Latvia, and Germany. In March 2024, FMV signed an agreement for an additional 321 vehicles for 5.3 billion SEK. The vehicle has also been ordered by Finland, Latvia, Germany, and most recently Denmark.
Within the program, Patria has received orders for nearly 1,000 Patria 6x6 and delivered over 200 units.
Thanks to the large orders on a common platform, both costs and delivery times are kept down.
– Denmark's CAVS 6x6 is based on a common, standardized platform. This reduces costs, shortens lead times, and simplifies logistics, training, and maintenance. At the same time, the platform is modular and upgradeable for different tasks, providing high efficiency, interoperability, and endurance over time, says Mats Warstedt, Vice President, Market Area Nordics, Patria.
At DALO, Patria showcases a CAVS 6x6 with a protected, motorized ring mount from Sima Innovation. The system can rotate 360 degrees in 8 seconds and can be equipped with a 12.7 mm machine gun. SIMA describes the ring mount as modular and motorized, with customization options for different protection levels and weapon systems.
– The Danish CAVS program, where Patria CAVS 6x6 is combined with a protected, motorized ring mount from Sima Innovation, is a clear example of how the Nordic countries strengthen interoperability and supply security by providing the Danish defense with an effective and upgradeable solution. We are very proud to be part of the program and to collaborate with Patria to provide soldiers with better protection, says Niels Thorup, CEO of Sima Innovation.
Patria is showcasing the vehicle at DALO Industry Days outdoors, booth 309.
