Finnish defence group Patria appoints Panu Routila as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. He takes up the position with immediate effect, succeeding Esa Rautalinko.

According to a press release from Patria, the decision was made jointly by the company and the outgoing CEO, based on the company's next phase of development and Rautalinko's future plans. Routila previously served as Chairman of the Board at Patria between 2020 and 2026.

"Patria is a growth company at an exciting stage. I look forward to further strengthening our growth capacity together with the management team across all three business areas," says Panu Routila in the press release.

Routila has previously served as CEO of Konecranes and Ahlström Capital, and has experience of international industrial operations in Europe and the United States.

Chairman of the Board Jyri Häkämies states that the appointment is intended to ensure continuity in the company's strategic direction.

"Routila's deep knowledge of Patria ensures continuity in the company's strategic direction as it enters its next phase," he says in the press release.

Esa Rautalinko, who has served as CEO for seven years, will remain in an advisory role for six months to ensure a smooth transition. He will also continue to be available to the board and management.
