Norway invites industry to Arctic technology evaluation
Norwegian Special Operations Command invites industry to propose Arctic technology for the Arctic Warrior Experiment 2027, with focus on mobility, medical evacuation and situational awareness in extreme winter conditions. Applications are submitted via the Vulcan platform by 1 May 2026, and selected participants are invited to Norway for operational evaluation in early 2027.
The Norwegian Special Operations Command (NORSOCOM) is inviting industry to submit proposals for technology ahead of the Arctic Warrior Experiment (AWE) 2027, with a focus on strengthening mobility capabilities in Arctic environments.
AWE is NORSOCOM's primary activity for testing and evaluating materiel in demanding terrain and extreme winter conditions. For the 2027 edition, particular focus is directed towards solutions that can be integrated with existing tracked and snow vehicles.
The areas requested include casualty evacuation solutions (CASEVAC), improved situational awareness in white-out conditions, the ability to cross water obstacles, and measures to reduce signatures in snow terrain.
Applications must be submitted via the Vulcan platform no later than 1 May 2026. Selected participants are expected to be invited to Norway in early 2027 for operational evaluation alongside end users. The selection process is planned to be completed in June 2026.
