Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway have signed an agreement to harmonize the certification process for ammunition among the Nordic countries. The aim is to enable joint procurements and improve supply readiness in the region.

The decision is part of the increased Nordic defense cooperation. The new joint certification process is intended to facilitate future acquisitions and enhance compatibility between the Nordic countries' armed forces.

In 2023, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway signed an agreement on coordinated procurement of ammunition to support Ukraine. In connection with this, an initial joint order for artillery ammunition was placed with a total value of 604 million SEK. Sweden and FMV led the negotiations and coordination of the procurement through existing framework agreements, which FSN has previously reported on.
