The property company Vectura has signed a lease agreement with Saab and will develop the new facility at Hedenstorp in Jönköping (southern Sweden). BRA Bygg has been awarded the contract to carry out the project as a design-build contract.

"Saab's growth in recent years means we no longer fit at Stensholm. New times, with demands for new technology and an increased pace of innovation, have contributed to us no longer being able to conduct the operations we want in our existing premises. Through this agreement, we are creating the conditions to build a new, modern and sustainable facility built for purpose, where we can bring together all our operations in Jönköping/Huskvarna at a single site," says Joakim Ahlbin, site manager for Saab's operations in Jönköping and Huskvarna, in a press release from Vectura.

According to Vectura, the facility will be designed to meet Saab's needs, with a focus on sustainability, innovation and functionality. The project is being carried out in close cooperation with Saab and the Municipality of Jönköping, and is planned to be ready for occupancy in 2029-2030.

BRA Bygg states in a separate press release that the company is responsible for the design-build contract. BRA Mark will carry out the groundworks contract, while BRA Teknik is responsible for the structural design.

According to an announcement from the company, Fastighets AB Balder will acquire a minor share in the project once the facility is completed, and will subsequently become a co-owner.
