The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and the Swedish Armed Forces (Försvarsmakten) have developed a new joint regulatory framework for materiel data. The aim is to improve quality, clarify responsibilities, and facilitate procurement.
According to FMV, the new framework is based on a consolidation of previous guiding documents and is divided into two governing and one supporting document. The framework includes requirements for, among other things, inventory designations for all materiel used by the Swedish Armed Forces.
– Now there is a well-compiled foundation to build upon, which we can continue to develop. This should be a living regulatory framework that we update annually, says Ulrika Hill, Chief Engineer for Product Data at FMV, in the press release.
