NCC has been commissioned by the Swedish Fortifications Agency to develop the training area at Villingsberg firing range in Karlskoga. The project is part of the re-establishment of the Bergslagen Artillery Regiment, A 9, and includes new infrastructure and buildings for training and service. The order value amounts to approximately 300 million SEK, according to a press release from NCC.

The work has commenced and is expected to continue until the summer of 2026. NCC's assignment includes a new motor area, buildings for training and service, as well as the expansion of water, sewage, electricity, and fiber networks.

– NCC has a broad competence in the area, making them a good partner in our work to re-establish the Bergslagen Artillery Regiment, says Malin Berglind, project manager at the Swedish Fortifications Agency.

According to NCC's business area manager Kenneth Nilsson, the collaboration is a continuation of previous joint projects:
– We look forward to contributing our experience and expertise to the strengthening of Sweden's total defense, he says in the press release.

Defense Sector News has previously reported that NCC is also building new facilities for BAE Systems Hägglunds in Örnsköldsvik and a training hall for the Patriot system at the Air Defense Regiment in Halmstad in a project worth approximately 660 million SEK.
